Oxford Diecast
Oxford Diecast 1:148 Scale SS Jaguar
The prototype for Oxford’s Jaguar model is a late 1930s four-door. Jaguar Cars Ltd. was formed after World War II, and three models were offered incorporating many of the styling cues from the pre-war automobiles. The Jaguar 2.5 and 3.5 liter were the larger cars, and they were imported into North America from 1946 through 1948. The prototype 2.5/3.5 liter Jaguars were 186 inches long, which made them only about a foot shorter than the Ford sedans of the time. At 189.3 scale inches, the length of the Oxford Jaguar is only slightly longer in 1:160 scale inches than the prototype 2.5/3.5 liter Jaguar, making it a possible stand-in candidate for the post-war Jaguar.
